Cleaning beads: a sustainable success story
In May 2017 we brought the original version of the FLSK cleaning beads onto the market. The idea is as simple as it is effective: you put the cleaning beads with a little water into the FLSK and swirl them in a circle. And the drinking bottle is now free of deposits such as those caused by coffee, tea or other drinks. Of course, you can also use the beads to clean decanters, carafes, vases, etc.
No detergent and can be used indefinitely – a sustainable thing. Of course, not only we, but also the entire FLSK community celebrate the cleaning pearls! Over the years we have all gained experience with these little cleaning miracles. Thanks to feedback from customers like you, we have now been able to develop a new version of the cleaning beads that meets your needs even better, six years after its introduction.
What's new about Cleansing Beads 2.0?
In May 2022, we collected all of our community's wishes as well as the requirements and findings from detailed market research and started working on the design. Johnny, our long-time production partner in Taiwan, helped us to further optimize and implement the product.
The result makes us proud. The new FLSK cleaning beads can do everything their predecessors could - and much more:

Intuitive use: The container is larger and has a functional handle. This makes handling easier and wonderfully intuitive.

Stress-free filling: With the new filling aid you can pour the stainless steel beads into the bottle with just one movement. There won't be any more jingling noises.

Grip even when wet: The container is so easy to grip that you can open it even with wet hands.

Innovative sieve: After cleaning, you tip the beads back into their container. The water flows away quickly and without leaving any residue through the integrated sieve. The stainless steel beads remain dry.

Made from recycled material: Except for the transparent lid, the container is made from recycled plastic. Not only the application, but also the product itself is now much more sustainable.
Effective (gift) packaging
As you know, design is super important to us. That's why not only the product but also the packaging of the cleaning beads looks puristic and elegant. On the kitchen counter as well as when giving as a gift! The packaging takes up the pattern of the sieve with an artistic punching and allows a view of the stainless steel balls through the viewing window. When it comes to the packaging material, we used FSC-certified cardboard and made sure that the packaging can be easily stacked and layered on the way from us to our specialist retail partners - this saves transport volume and resources.
As long as it could be done better, good is just not good enough
Were the first cleaning beads good? Definitely. Are the new FLSK cleaning beads better? Oh yeah! Over a year of conceiving, discussing, designing and producing was worth it. Initial feedback from FLSK fans confirms: no one can resist the “new guys”. Cleaning FLSK drinking bottles until they're sparkling clean takes no time at all and is even more fun.
